Memories to Last a Lifetime

Sort it Out

I have been wanting to post this for quite a while..
Having just read my old secondary school friend's blog

Quoted:
"The positives are obvious. its a cast-iron job and i save my parents a hell of a lot where money is concerned (uni education isn't free).
but that means giving up my dreams because i'll be bonded for a certain amount of time. or maybe i'll still get a chance at them, but it'll take longer and its already faint enough, what little hope i have."

How true...I am in quite a fix now.

I want to study Medicine and I haven't been clearer on this before.
Even if it means taking up a loan, live overseas alone for 5,6 years and whatever it takes.
I will take a full year to prepare for my application.

But there are lots of uncertainties here. S$300k and whether or not I get a spot overseas.
So back-up plans...

Currently I am enrolled in NUS Chem Eng, standard course for PCME people like me. How should I put it? This course is one that I do not have much interest but I will probably do averagely well, graduate and probably land a job in a petrochemical firm in Jurong Island.

Well, then HDB came into the picture. Offering me a full local scholarship inclusive of everything plus overseas exchange programmes. Condition? NUS DDP I&S or Mech Eng + Econs or Biz.

I will have to sort this out myself.

Meanwhile I am finishing up the last week in SCS foundation term this week.
Hope to get some decent posting. Medic would definitely be the best result for me.

I want to ORD. I want to study.

Hi there.
Its the weekends again.
I love Book-Outs.
Precious time in the civilian world.
Away from all those sh!t in the camp.
Five more weeks to completion of BSLC
~
Anyway things aren't that bad afterall
In my place, we get treated like future commanders (so they say)
Well, we actually do get more liberty and freedom of actions.
The stressful part is the amount of learning we have to do.
I am just grateful for the same section-mates I had in BMT
and the laptop with internet ^^

Weekend friends gathering has became a weekly event
Sat Night was s01 class dinner at Thai Express.
I met up with Adrian, Khonglim, Melina, Eunice, Menghua, Siliang, Chinmeng, Jitsheng, Jeremy, Bernard and Darius.
Juanhong and Junhe joined us for drinks at Starbucks later.
From dinner to about midnight, we did much catching up and found out what everyone has been doing in the past 8 months.
As usual, the guys had endless topics to talk about the life in green uniform.
Seems like most of my classmates are heading to either NUS or NTU to further their studies.
Congrats to Eunice for being accepted into Medicine.
I am sure all of them would do well in their field of studies.

Shall go relax and prepare for book-in =.=
